Recently, the MG40T gantry crane, independently developed and produced by China Railway Hi-Tech Industry Co,.Ltd., completed its manufacturing acceptance at the Jiangxia Base in Wuhan. It is the second batch of cranes to be used in the construction of the Manila Metro in the Philippines and is about to be shipped overseas.
This crane is a double-beam gantry crane independently developed by China Railway Science & Technology under China Railway Hi-Tech Industry Co,.Ltd. with full intellectual property rights. The crane has a rated lifting capacity of 40 tons, a span of 37 meters, and is equipped with a new electrical intelligent system. The equipment ensures stable operation through systems such as variable frequency speed regulation, video surveillance, and safety management (CMS). It realizes online safety monitoring and comprehensive information management, improving overall project efficiency and operational safety. Data signals collected from the project site can be processed by a remote control module and transmitted across countries via omnidirectional antennas for real-time monitoring and maintenance.
It is reported that the Manila Metro is the first underground rail line in the Philippines, hailed as the “Century Project” of the country, with an initial planned length of 33.1 kilometers. In September 2024, two MG20-type metro gantry cranes developed by China Railway Science & Technology were shipped from the Jiangxia manufacturing base, becoming the first batch of lifting equipment produced by the company for the construction of the Manila Metro.
